Some patients who have undergone previous abdominal surgery or have had pelvic infection in the past get a nagging pain in the abdomen near about the scar or site of infection. After ruling out active infections, these patients have been found to be relieved by injecting a mixture of local anaesthetic, hydrocortisone and distilled water in the painful points. The pain relief is permanent.
